Nick Young
Nick brings over a decade of experience in rail safeworking across major networks including MTM, ARTC, and V/Line. He is currently a Track Force Protection Coordinator at ActivateRail, where he plays a central role in developing protection plans and overseeing rail safety operations across complex and large-scale infrastructure projects.
Holding TFPC accreditations across ARTC, V/Line and Metro networks, along with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nick has delivered both planned and reactive protection across a wide range of environments. His work on programs such as the Ballarat Bus Interchange and Melbourne Airport Rail has highlighted his inherent ability to respond with clarity under pressure - working side-by-side with Signallers and Controllers to resolve on-track issues safely and effectively.
Before joining ActivateRail, Nick supported multiple operators including Walbec and SWS, where he helped train and certify protection staff in alignment with ARO policies and National Rail Law. Now at ActivateRail, he continues to bring depth, adaptability, and hands-on insight to every stage of project delivery—driving safer outcomes and helping to expand the team’s role across an increasingly complex and evolving rail network.
